These buildings were both built in the late 19th century in romantic style by Lev Vlodek, also the architect of Deribasovskaya's Passage and the former Novaya Moskovskaya hotel. The buildings are flanked with open work iron railings, which reveal a beautiful courtyard. The corner bow windows and spiral towers create a pleasant silhouette.

Interesting Sight

On the corner of Gogolya 7 are two sculptured men holding up the earth on their backs "Atlantes" (Атланты на ул. Гоголя). Atlantes is the plural form of Atlas, a column in the shape of a man. The monument supports the bow windows above. This is the home of the World Odessites.
